Joao Pais Filipe is one of my favourite percussionists, a very busy guy, he is a blacksmith, making his cymbals and other instruments by himself. He is also told to search junkyards and flee- markets for everything you could use as a drum, he is exploring the sound of things. His music is heavily based in a deep knowledge of shamanic rituals from allover the world. Heavy recommendation!

I remember coming across Tiago Sousa when listening to one of Jonathan Herveghs “Blurred and Obscurred” -shows on WFMU( best music shows ever, https://wfmu.org/playlists/shows/154691). I’ve had to live 5 years in Portugal without knowing Tiago Sousa, that’s a shame! He is a genious and has restored my enthusiasm for the piano and organ. He is also the founder of the Merzbau- Label
Showrunner is talking again: what kind of music he likes and why and then he is complaining about actual techno, electronic shit- music and the way out. Last but not least he recommends his recent discovery of a great icecream: olive oil- icecream which is quite popular in Puglia, Sardegna and in the South of Portugal but quite unknown inother countries. This icecream is a gem, a festival for your lousy senses. It tastes like the smell in an olive grove.
