The ponyXpress- show is focused on DIY-, experimental-, noise-, punk-, psychedelic-, kraut-, folkrock and worldmusic, sometimes a bit of real techno( good old 1990ies.
I don’t like to categorize or classify music, I prefer listening and cooking or dancing to it………music in its best case is “the luxury of silence“(Clarice Lispector) or to talk with Ornette Coleman: “tell me the music you are listening to and I tell you, who you are”………..that’s a kind of harsh, but………..yes, I would agree………..music is much more than 10000 words………or maybe less………if the music is loud enough there’s nothing to say……………….
In the 1990ies I run the ponyXpress as a weekly show for 7 years in an independent radio station in the German town of Schopfheim. I was also a founding member of the independent social- cultural centre Cafe Irrlicht for 14 years, where my friends and me organized a lot of gigs, movie- nights, events for kids, readings, workshops and parties, parties, parties……and a yearly open- air………..such a great time.
The ponyXpress in the 1990ies was focused on the so- called alternative or independent rock.
Never thought about coming back to this show. But in 2020 my wife and me moved to Portugal( best decision ever). We live now near a rural village at the edges of Serra do Acor. Very soon it happens some new friends and me founded an independent and local radio station: RADIO JAVALI(javali is portuguese and means wildboar which is nerving everybody by destroying land and gardens……..digging out the good stuff).
